Note.-All 10" B.L. guns to have new mountings. All 6" B.L. (except 2 in Lyemun Redoubt) to be con- verted and have new mountings, and 4 of these to go to North Point and Kowloon, West, to be replaced by the new 6" B.L. guns proposed for those batteries.
3. The cost of the emplacements for 2-6" B.L., VII, guns at Saiwan Hill can be defrayed from funds already allotted by the Colonial Government, and the work will shortly be commenced.
4. Not including the cost of the above battery, a sum of about 90,0007. will be required for the construction or adaptation of the batteries to mount the new armament. The cost of the additional armament approved and of the new mountings to be supplied is 154,4857.
5. It is proposed that, in accordance with previous practice, the Imperial Government should provide at their own cost the armament, including mountings, the Colonial Government furnishing the funds for the works.
6. As the supply of the guns will extend over some years, the attached Table has been drawn up showing the years in which the various guns will be ordered and the cost of the works in which they will be mounted:-
