(ii.) At the War Stage.
13. O.SC. companies will at once complete all necessary arrangements for bringing the detachments of men under their command to the strength laid down in the manning tables.
14. Any movable armament guns not yet in position will be taken to their mobilization positions and will be provided with 100 rounds per gun, including the 50 rounds already provided for at the precautionary stage. Coolies will be provided for this purpose by the O.C.A.S.C. In the event of more coolies being required for this or any other purpose, application should be made to the C.R.As. office.
15. O.SC. detachments of movable armament guns will report their arrival to the O.C. section of defence, and take his orders as to their further disposal.
16. Two days' rations, for which transport is provided, will be carried by all units.
17. The Fire Commanders will forward daily, by 10 A.M., to the O.C.A.S.C. requisitions for rations for all men under their command. They will also furnish daily states to the Adjutant, R.A., and a statement of expenditure of ammunition from each battery to the Armament Staff Officer.
18. Baggage guards will be detailed to escort baggage of units to its destination ; these escorts are in charge of the coolies and will prevent any of them deserting. On arrival at their destination, the n.c.o. in charge of the escort will receive instructions from the O.C. post as to what is to become of the coolies.
19. All men of the first relief, R.A., should be got under arms an hour before daybreak daily, and will remain so till the order to dismiss is received from head- quarters. In case of alarm at any time, all the reliefs on duty will double to their places in action.
The relief on duty will supply a look-out by day and be ready to man the gun at a moment's notice. It will supply two armed look-outs by night.
20. Arrangements will be made by the Fire Commanders in conjunction with the several B.C.s in each R.A. unit for rapidly transmitting through the C.R.A. to the Fortress Commander intelligence as to the approach of the enemy's ships.
By day, one look-out will be posted at Jubilee Look-out and Collinson Look-out respectively; these look-outs will be doubled by night or in foggy weather.
21. A guard will be detailed by the Officer Commanding each company for the protection of barracks and stores left behind.

22. The port war signal stations have instructions to report every hour to the selected officer a message all correct,
no news or any
similar message to show that they are in communication. A code prefix has been arranged locally and communicated to all concerned. Should no such message be received when due the selected officer will at once report the matter to the General Staff Officer and C.R.A.
(2.) — Royal Engineers.
(i.) At the Precautionary Stage.
1. The Division Officers concerned will collect and arrange all documents, &c., required for handing over major services to the Director of Public Works, and transfer them to the D.O. 1.
2. The C.R.E. will open an account with the C.O.O. for the tools and stores required for the R.E. parks, and the officer in charge of stores will proceed to the A.O.D. Arsenal, at the times ordered, and superintend the drawing of the additional tools and stores required for the R. E. parks, assisted by an n.c.o. of the establishment for R.E. services.
