*Engaged by Principal Civil Medical Officer.
Engaged by Principal Medical Officer.
Engaged by Transport Officer.
These will be demanded from <fficer in charge transport only if required.
(H.)—Action by the Chief Ordnance Officer.
(i.) At the Precautionary Stage.
1. Arrangements have recently been made for the storage of a large proportion of the stores that would be required on mobilization in the various forts of the respective Sections of defence; thus it will not be necessary to make abnormally large issues of stores likely to attract attention during this stage, but merely supply additional tools, barbed wire, &c., required for immediate use.
(ii.) At the War Stage.
2. The C.O.O. has requisitions for the complete equipment, stores, and tools for each Section of defence, which include the stores above mentioned in precautionary stage, in custody of R.A. in various forts. On the order to mobilize, all these stores will at once be issued to the O.Cs. of Sections of defence without further request. The O.C.A.S.C. will make the necessary arrangements for their transport. The arrange- ments made for this service are such that all stores immediately required will reach the various posts within twenty-four hours.
3. Small Arm Ammunition. Each infantry unit holds on charge 100 rounds per rifle, and other units 60 rounds per rifle. On mobilization this will be carried by each man to his Section. The C.0.0. will forward 200 rounds per rifle to Section Com- manders with the stores mentioned in previous paragraph.
