4. Second Reserve Ammunition. The C.O.O. will arrange with Section Commanders for the storage of a second reserve of ammunition in each Section of the defence at the rate of 300 rounds per rifle for the infantry allotted to the Section. This reserve will be in charge of representatives of the A.O.D. in each Section, who will be detailed by
the C.0.0.
5. After the above-mentioned issues have been made, it is estimated that a balance of 500 rounds per rifle will be left in Ordnance Magazines, from which the Sectional Magazines will be replenished.
6. Gun Ammunition.-As a rule, all the gun ammunition is stored in the fort magazines ready for use (namely, 500 rounds per gun), except in the case of the following guns, for which the proportions are shown below:-

The C.O.O. will issue at once to the R.A. all ammunition held in Ordnance charge for movable armament, also the reserve of 5,500 rounds per gun for Maxim guns.
7. Arrangements as to the hours stores will be issued are contained in Table H (ii).
8. Engineer and Hospital Stores, &c.—The C.O.O. will also issue at once the tools, &c., required by the C.E., the equipment for the expansion of the military | hospitals, and any stores required by the R.A. for moving the guns into position.
9. Miscellaneous. Further action by the C.0.0., whose time will be much taken up by arranging for the supply of naval ammunition and stores, will be as follows:-
(a.) Purchasing locally such hospital equipment and stores as may be required. (b.) Providing additional accommodation for laboratory work. This will best be provided by tents and boarded floors. Arrangements have been made for an officer of the A.O.D. to visit all posts over storehouses and magazines. A subordinate will be kept in attendance at each magazine and storehouse by day and night so long as considered necessary to meet sudden requirements.
