PEKING ALL OUT TO GET UNITED NATIONS HEARING ON "BOMBING" INCIDENT
Tokyo, Sept. 9.
The Chinese Communists today countered the United States offer to submit the alleged bombing of Chinese territory to an impartial inves- tigation by demanding that Peking Government representatives be per- mitted to discuss China's charges against the United States before the Security Council.
The official New China News Agency, in a broadcast quoting “an authori- fative source in Peking," said United States delegate Mr Warren Austin's pro- the spot posal that an Indian-Swedish commission be formed to make an on Investigation of the bomb damage was "illegal." because China was not given an opportunity to present the case directly to the United Nations.
The broadcast made it clear that Communist China intended to use the in- rident as a nyans for getting the floor in the United Nations for an attack on the United States-led majority's intervention in Korea.
