Prospects for the Olympic Decathlon look brighter with every month and it is now more than probable that if Glen Morris's mammoth world record score of 7,200 points at Berlin is not beaten at London it will at least be approached.
Until last year, there had been no better-than-7000-point decathioners since William Watson, the Michigan negro, von the American National Watson's score, help- title in 1940.
