Girl's Ring CausedEnvy In School

A HEADMASTER'S decision that girls should not wear Jewellery. In school "because if caused envy in the minds of other children and turned their minds from the path of educa tion" resulted in a father being fined 10. at Sheffield for not sending his nine-year-old daughter to school.

Harold Webster, radio dealer of Stocksbrkixe, near Sheffield, gave his daughter the signet ring that caused all the trouble.

Mr G. R. Bitington, proaccuting, sild a teacher saw the girl wearing the ring, and it was placed on the teacher's desk.

Next day the father went to the school, demanded the ring, and pul il back on the girl's finger.
