Joe Penner, whose gog "Wanna buy a duck?" endeared him to the hearts of American radio audiences, is dead. The 36-year old comedian died in his sleep in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Philadelphia, where he was appearing in the musical comedy "Yekel Boy."
Seven years ago Rudy Vallee - vited Penner to broadcast as a guest artist on the radio. It was Penner's
and he made the most of it.
This initial appearance on the alri was 'n turning point in his career. His two favourite gays, "Wanna buy a duck?" and "You nasty man!" be- came national by words.
Joe Penher was born on Nov. 11, 1004 in a small town near Budapest, Hungary. His name was Josef Pin- ter.
