LONDON, OCT. 16, (UP)‚---A ̃CONVOY OF THREE GERMAN SUPPLY SHIPS AND TWO ESCORT SHIPS, AND ANOTHER GERMAN. VESSEL OF ABOUT 7,000 TONS WERE SUCCESSFULLY ATTACKED AND HIT BY THREE TORPEDOES FROM A BRITISH WARSHIP AC- CORDING TO AN ADMIRALTY COMMUNIQUES, WHICH DID NOT DISCLOSE THE LOCATION NOR THE DATE OF THE ATTACKS.

The Admiralty also announced that the British cruiser Liverpool was damaged by an enemy torpedo carrying aircraft while returning to her base from operations off Sicily. The vessel is now in port and casualties are reported light.
