"We Want Peace But Are Ready For War"

PLEAD
BERLIN, Aug. 2 (UP),— Germany's Army, Navy and Air Force leaders to-day pleaded for peace. -
Coupled with the gesture, however, wora fiery statements regarding the preparedness of the Reich's armed forces and the use to which they would be employed if war again came to Europe.
Pledge, To Hitler.
The occasion-the twenty-fifth- anniversary of Germany's entry into the Great War was utilised to pledge new support for Herr Hitler.
The statements were issued in the form of proclamations to the three Services-to the Army by General Brauchlish, to the Navy by Admiral Raeder and to the Air Force by Air Marshal Goering,

"We want peace," he declared. "But if another conflict should be forced upon us, our Army will fight with the Inner determination, readiness and courage in defending Germany's vital rights as they did In 1914.

The Anglo-Polish export credit

to-day by the Polish Ambassador and Mr. R. S. Hudson, Secretary for Overseas Trade.
The agreement provides for export credit of £8,103,000, and the system by which the credits will be extended will be the same as that adopted with Rumania.
The Polish Government will issue State bonds, capital and interest service on which will be guaranteed by the British Government. The money will thus be made available for the exclusive purchase of British goods.

Player Dies
Shanghal, July 29.
The death was reported in Shanghai yesterday of Dr. Carel, surgeon on board the French gunboat, Doudard de Lagree, who succumbed to illness at Hankow on July 10.
Only 20 years of age at the time of his death, Dr. Caret was well- known in Shanghai for his prowess on the rugger field captaining the French Forces XV last winter. In his native country, Dr. Carel was also prominent in rugger circles, repre- senting France in several Interna- Honul matches,
