THE BEST FINANCIAL year in fifteen years was reported at the annual meeting of the Hongkong and Yaumati Ferry Company, Ltd., held this morning at the Company's offices, Kowloon. A net profit for 1939 of over $255,000 was recorded, and dividends of $2.90 is being paid on Pre- ferential shares, $2.40 on Old Ordinary shares, and $1.40 on New Ordinary shares.

THE seventeenth annual meet- ing of the Hongkong Engineer- ing and Construction Company, Ltd. will be held at the offices of Messrs. Sir Elly Kadoorie and Sons, St. George's Building, on Wednesday, May 10.
