Chinese Hit Back and Make Big Progress On All War Fronts
Shansi Counter-Offensive: Activity Near Canton
THE CHINESE FORCES are inflicting smashing blows on the Japanese in a counter-offensive in Shansi, according to latest reports, and at the same time the Chinese throat to Tsengshing, 25 miles north of Can- ton is becoming more and more serious to the Japanese.
Meanwhile, Kaifeng is said to be held by the Chinese, whose retention of the Honan capital has been accompanied by bitter and
sanguinary fighting.
The following reports from "Central News" indicate the latest position in the war zones in China.
