CHUNGKING, Jan, 2.
AT A FULL SESSION of the Standing Committee of the Central Executive Committee of the Kuomintang yesterday afternoon, Wang Ching-wei was permanently expelled from the Party by a unanimous vote.
The meeting was personally presided over by Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, Chief Executive of the Kuomintang, and at- tended by twelve members of the Standing Committee, including General Feng Yu-hsinng, Dr. H. H. Kung, Dr. Sun Fo, General Ho Ying-chin and Mr. Yeh Chu-tsang.

The unusual phenomenon of frost was witnessed at Kowloon. Big tracts of grann were covered with a thick hoar frost, which, on examination, proved to fo in thick layers on all undergrowth. The sight was an extremely pretty one. and it aroused much curiosity on the part of those who happened to be about before the sun's enya hand melted the frost.
The lowest temperature during the night by dry bulb was 40 and by wet uth 46 No record was kept of the temperature on the grass, but the con- ditions were certainly most favourablo for a low gross-temperature.
It was a long ago as 1891 that a temperature as low as freezing point (82 degrees) wan recorded in Hong- kong.

The sixteenth and seventeenth honour goes to Li Shih and Li Tse- chin, both magistrates, who fought the Japanese unremittingly despite the fall of their cities. Li Tse-chia has since given his life to the coun- try.

Cats Cause Death

Cats were blamed at an inquest át Sutton, Surrey, for the death of Wil- liam Sanders, a 52-year-old accoun- tant, who was found on a concrete path beneath his bedroom window, and died from his injuries.
