Woman Given Six Ounces Of Paraldehyde Instead
Of Six Drachms
"She has lost her life through a mistake in a telephone message between a doctor and a nurse," said Mr. Ingleby Oddie, the coroner, at an inquest at Paddington, W., on Lady Rankeillour,
He said this in recording a verdict
of death by misadventure.
Lady Rankelllour, who was aged 05, died at her home in Thurloc- square, Kensington, S.W.
She was given an injection of six ounces of paraldehyde instead of six drachms. There are eight drachmns to the ounce.
Nurse Rosemary Taylor said she had nursed Lady Rankelllour, who was suffering from shingles, since last November.
Dr. Groves had been attending her. Lody Rankelllour' came back from her country cottage on April 20.

She asked the doctor's advice, and which Dr. mentioned paraldehyde, Groves had spoken about before, and asked how she should give it.

Miss Tayler added that she wrote the dosage us given her by the doctor on a piece of dirty cardboard or a telephone message block.
As Indy Ronkeillour, later on, sald she did not wish the cardboard to be kept
