Britain and the United States shared the honours in the August Holiday International Bank athletic meeting at White City. United States proved superior in the field events, but Britain scored heavily in the track races, note and finished on a strong when the relay team beat the United States invaders.
It was officially stated that 83,000 crowded into the White City stadium .10 walch the thrills.
