Prove Value
of Warships
London, March 11.
An inspiring description of Great Britain's efforts to reorganise her Navy was given by Sir Samuel Hoare, First Lord of the Admiralty, when introducing the Navy estimates in the House of Common's this afternoon.
Sir Samuel said the Navy was being forced, owing to past inaction, to telescope into two or three years what would ordinarily be carried out in a decade. Now the House was asked to appro ve an expenditure of over £100,000,000, and of the con. struction of 80 warships.
