Mr. MeLood spent his life in prison ervlee, having entered the Scottish service as a young man on May 10, 1896. His first post was at.lf. M. General · Prison,-Burlinnie, Glasgow, but he W425 Inter transferred to Dundee, where he remained until he decides to leave for Hongkong.

With Mrs. McLeod, he arrived ja the Colony on May 19, 1901 and took up his duties as principal warder. In 1900 te was acting chief warder for 12 months, and also acted in that enpagity in 1921 and 1922 appointinent to Assistant Chief War- der was made in 1925, while he was promoted to his present position in i927.
