CORONATION WILL DIFFER FROM OTHERS

London, Apr. 20.

The Coronation of King Ed- ward-in May next year-is likely to differ in several respects from that of his father and his grandfather.

The ceremony may be cut by one and a half hours to only two hours.

It is possible that the oath,. administered in the form of a question to the King by the Archbishop of Canterbury at the coronation ceremony, will! have to be changed slightly to conform with the altered status) of the Dominions and their re lation to the King since the Statute of. Westminster (1931).]

King Edward is the Sovereign not unly of all his Dominions, but of each one separately. The Irish Free State has been born since the inst Coronation.

The form of question to which King George V. answered "1 sotemnly pro- mise so to do" was this-

"Will you solemnly promise ant swear to Govern the propie of this United Kingdom of Great Britain

and Ireland, and the Dominions, thereto belonging, according to the Statues in Parliament agreed on, and the respective Laws and Customs af the same?"

King Edward's Coronation will be the most fully attended in history, Transport developmems of the last twenty-five years have brought the faraway parts of the Empire so much

It is known that 150 indian princes, nawabs, and rajahs have already an nounced their intention of attending Dominion and Colonial officers will bear part of the Royal Regalia.

DIVISION BETWEEN STATES IN DOUBT

INAPPROACHABLE PART OF BRITISH EMPIRE

Maymyo, Burma, April 15.

Future history will sometime record that in 1935 there. was appointed by the League of Nations a Boundary Com. mission to demarcate the disputed Sino-Burmese Frontier in what are knowns as the Wa States.

Such will be the matter-of-fact definition.

But this really sifinifies the launching of an intensely in- teresting undertaking to fix a border in one of the most un- approachable and least known parts of the British Empire.

The Wa States, some of them British and some Chinese are as yet unadministered by either

An uncertain frontier, however, even in such distant parts, gives rise at times to awkward disputes, co that a settlement of this question must precede any possible future at- tempt to civilise their peoples, and this the present Boundary Commis- sion hopes to effect during the next six months,
