The rebuilding of Quetta, laid waste by the earthquake of May 31, with the loss of 30,000 lives, will probably cost about £6,000,- 000.
This is the estimate given here. But it is emphasised that an accu- ràto figure cannot yet be given.

One popular French opern was for sale recently at £2,000. Now the amount demanded is £7,000. In some cases the price set on film rights has soared as high as £20,000.

In this case London has been more enterprising than Hollywood, since the new British company, Capitol Films, has acquired the rights of "I Pagliacci," In which Richard Tauber is to be starred.
The price paid for these rights has not been disclosed, but it is believed to be approximately £18,000.
