Rome, Oct, 15. It is believed the Metauro Division of the regular army recently shipped from Naples and ostensibly bound for East Africa, has now been sent to Libya. The division has been moved with great secrecy and
haste.
Italian forces in Libya are now believed to amount to four divisions.
According to an unconfirmed rumour another post may be found for General Balbo, Governor-General of Libya, in order that a high army officer may be placed in supreme command of the Libyan area. Reuter.
Rome, Oct. 15.
It is learned in unimpeachable quarters that a division of 17,000 Italian regulars and several bombing squadrons have been despatched secretly for the Libyan frontier, making a total of 50,000 Italian troops sent into that area since the British warships commenced their concentration at Alexandria, and other points in the Mediterranean.
