CIVIL SERVANTS HOLD EVENT

The annual harbour swim of the Chinese Civil Servants' Bathing Club
hold WHA
yesterday afternoon. Thirty-seven members, including five Indles, took part in the race, which was won by Mak Wai-ming, a promis- ing young awinimer,
The race started from Chal Kor Lange, which is directly opposite the Clob, at a distance of about one mile, and finished up at the elub-house. The winner awam the distance in 18 minutes and 26 seconds; Shek Kam- plu, last year's winner was recond, his time being 18 minutes 58 seconds, and Ho Put-kan was third, about two minutes behind.
Ideal weather condfilons favoured the race, there being a smooth and calm sen whilo, the current was not very strong. All the competitora completed the distance.
Men Ghan Yuk-king was the frat lady to reach the winning post, her
