Geneva, Sept. 17.
A reliable forecast of the Committee of Five's re- commendations has been distilled from the innumer- able rumours which have been flying about all day.
It seems the attitude of the League, if anything, has stiffened as a result of the speeches in the Assembly and the obvious strength of world opinion. It is there- fore expected that the recommendations of the Com- mittee of Five will suggest advisers for various branches of the Ethiopian administration, without specifying the nationalities of the advisers.
The provisions to be suggested will certainly ensure the security of Italian and other foreign nationals in Ethiopia and measures to protect the frontiers of the Italian colonies.
The report of British proposals to cede a portion of British Suma- Iland and the Port of Zeila has been revived, coupled with the rumour of a plan to cede a strip | of French Somaliland to Ethiopia.
