On Monday, 6th May, the British Empira is giving thanks and praise that for 25 years His Majesty King George V hos bean preserved to bear the sceptra of sovereignty and maintain the unity of the Empire. His Majesty's great interest in all forms of charity is universally recognised and it is known that His Majesty desires this auspicious occasion to be in some manner dedicated to assisting charitable objects. After having been cast with raven-haired leading man in her re- cent flima, Sylvin Sidocy, Paramount's star of "Hehold My Wife," due shortly at the Queen's theatre, finds a foll for her own dark beauty in the din- tinctive, blonde good looks of Gene Raymond, her new romantic lend. Adapted from Sir Gilbert Parker's "The Translation of a Savage", the picture is the story of a social regis- trite who married an Indian girl to revenge himself on his family, Gene Raymond as the boy, flees to New Mexico when his family interfere in his attempt to marry a girl whom he loves. He is wounded and nursed hack to health by Mias Sidney as Tonita. While he is convalescing, a plan for revenge hatches in his mind and he marries Tonita and takes her buck with him. Although the family, ut first, are horrified, they attempt to make the best of a bad situation and hold a reception in her honour. Sho appears in evening clothes, captivates

but beauty: everyone with Michael, disgruntled because he is cheated of his revenge, reveals his true purpose to her. Broken hearted und disillusioned, Tonita runs away with another man, Monroe Owsley. It is only when she has gone that Michael realizes his love for her. He follows her to ask her to take him track. Ho discovers then that Owaldy has been killed and. Tonita has con- farsed to the murder. In stirring and dramatic last scene, these two confess their love to each other and a surprise change of events clears her of the charge and frees her to go with Michael. The picture is a Mit chell Leinen directed Paramount pro- duction.
