'Defendant was alleged to have stolen a radiator cap from private car No. 3929, the property of Mr. D. A. Corkett, at the Salisbury Car Park; a windscreen wiper from private car No. 495, the property of Mr. W. J. Brown; and a wind- screen wiper from private car No. 2097, the property of Mr. 1. J. Neil, at Hankow Road.

Two men, Lo Wing, 30, and Li Fat, 30, were charged with receiv ing the cap and the wipers knowing i them to have been stolen,

Lo Wing pleaded that he did not know that the radiator cap had been stolen. He was a car driver and, knowing Tin Hing to be also a driver, he did not think there would be any harm in his keeping It for Tin Hing.

Further he stated that he was employed, and called his father to testify to his character.

The police had nothing against him and his Worship decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. He was accordingly discharged.

Tin Hing admitted the three charges of theft and was sentenced to six months on each count, the first two to run consecutively. He had a previous conviction for theft. The remaining defendant, Li Fat, was given a menth for receiving stolen property.
