SHOES COURTESY of

COURTESY

SELBY, NEW YORK

AT THE LEFT is a costume that can be worn for all the active aports of late. autumn. The divided skirt of hárring- bone tweed can be buttoned in back and front or on the sides. The hiplength jacket is of darker gray auedo, Tha walk- ing shoes are of black and white leather.

HERE'S A mountain-climbing esinemble. for the active sportswoman. The leather- lined jacket de worn with riding breeches and high-laced boots. These are the type of shoes that take you up hill and down dale without making you the least bit tired,

THE

girl who goes in for active sports of late autumn and early winter is no longer a mythical personage found only on the pages of fashion magazines.” She's a very real, flesh and blood individual who tramps over hill and dale or who takès, bow and arorw to try her skill at archery.

This great interest of women in sports that hitherto belonged to men isn't so surprising either. You can't expect a girl who has played golf and tennis all summer to sit still and khit during the inbetween seasons.

Besides, abooting is good fun. If you're wearing one of the new rough-and-ready shoot- ing costumes, you have the same well-groomed feeling that you get when you don an ovening gown of slinky satin,

If you're hunting with men who actually ex- poct you to hit whatever game wanders your way, by all means wear breeches. Your riding breeches and boots will do very well. Complete the outfit with one of the handsome suede jackets and a small hat to match.

However, if you take your hunting in a more feminine manner, wear a skirt of heavy tweed or rough woollen and top It with flannel shirt- waist blouse and a leather jacket.

Leather Jackets, by the way, are cut on Interesting lines that flatter your figuro ́ and keep you warm at the same time. The arm- holes are wide, full and, comfortable. The neck- lines button tightly about the throat. There- ́are wide, roomy pockets.

Look at divided skirts that can be buttoned on the sides to form ordinary skirts or buttoned- in front and back to make trousers that are wide and comfortable.

Shoes, by the way, should be an important consideration with every sportswoman. Get some that are designed to be comfortable-as- well as smart. If you don't fancy plain ox- fords, you can have ghillies with wide leather tongues and sensible hools.
