ANSWER TO DISTRESS SIGNALS.
The Adventure is now standing by the still labour- ing "Taikoo" and escorting her towards Tourane Bay, on the Indo-China coast. The salvage ship's engines are giving her trouble and she has only sufficient coal to last her two days. Even though the weather may moderate, she could not turn and push her way back to Hongkong under the circumstances.
The little ship has made a gallant battle through the storm which caught her off Pratas and drove her miles to the south-west. The plight of the salvage crow of 100 which she carried has been miserable.
