CONVICTED OF STEALING A WRIST WATCH Before Mr. Wynne-Jones at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday, Afternoon Jaggat Singh, of the Iat. Mounted Battery, R.A., charged with stealing n metal wrist watch from No. 255 Shang- hal Street on Sunday afternoon.
-It-was-alleged that whilst the complainant Wu Lam-kwong was sitting behind the counter of his shop at 4.30 p.m., defendant walk- ed in and said he wanted to see Bome wrist watches. There was one suspended over the counter by a plece of wire, and whilst the shop-keeper's attention was being engaged elsewhere, it was alleged that defendant attempted to take the watch away.
After hearing all the ovidence, his Worship decided to convict, and was told that defendant had a good record during his three | years' service.
In view of defendant'a good re- cord, his Worship imposed a fine of $25, or one month's hard Jabour.
