The new ferry, of which
a full description has been given on the occasion of her launching a month ngo from the yards of the South China Motor Shipbuilding & Repair- ing Works, Ltd., at Tokwnwan, fa, in general appearance, very similar to the existing Star ferries, with the exception of the shorter funnel, and the heelawatt windows in the first- class deck shelters and the third class deck, where, owing to the absence of engine casings, there is considerably more available passenger space, than on previous ferrien having exactly the same overall dimensions. The ac- .commodation and layout of the seats
are the same as in those others.
The trials yesterday were followed with the greatest interest by a large number of persons, including dock yard-and port officials, as well as re- presentatives of other concerns either Associated in the general turn-out of the new vessel or interested in the new' type of ferry boat which it re presents.

The Chairman also said that he had received a letter from the Indian Recreation Club with regard to the Junior Division Shield.
