That, in effect, was the pro vocative question put to the, British Dental Association's Con- ference at Leicester by Colonel C. J. Bond.
The Colonel said it would be im-4 practicable and ridiculous to ex- pect a dentist to advise a patient with a slight deformity of Jaw or teeth to abstain from marriago. But he wanted every branch of medical men to rouse a health and race conscience and a view that knowingly to transmit disease and defects to offspring was to be guilty of a crime against humani-
ty.

It is all due to a remarkable mla- take on the part of a nurse. She told a very young father that his wife had presented him with a son. The father, without further inquiry, rushed off to the registrar of births.
'HER FIRST MISTAKE.
Two days Intor the father again called on the registrar—this time accompanied by the nurse.
The nurse explained that the boy was a girl. In all her twenty years' experience she had never made such a mistake.
The registrar replied that in all his forty years of registering births he had never heard such a story; Some time will elapse before the formalities necessary to change the legal sex of the baby are completed-Router.
