"Life Goes On." Frenkish futurism is a thing de finitely to be avoided in set construc tion, Mr. Lawrence Williams, the art director of the Paramount British production, "Life Goes On", told Fress Interviewer. "Studio settings should

to the basic prin- conform ciples of mudern building construc- tion," said Mr. Williams, and any- thing in the nature of freakish stylea should be ruled out entirely." "This is because the whole aim should bo realism, and true realism can only be achieved by closely following the logical construction lines of the perled with which the film deals. In "Life Goes On" which is now showing at the King's Theatre, we show you one of the most modern hotela in the West End of London where futuris- tle styles are utterly taboo. Modern building construction is governed by the materiala which present day ar chitects have introduced, such as re- inforced concrete for general pur- ровен and

for interior it- chromium tings, and this has brought about the use of the bold squares and circles which are a feature of modern build- ing designs. All the sota used in 'Life Goes On' are strictly in tune with these principles and any archi- tect who sees the film could visualize how the rest of the hotel would look, though we only show some of the main rooms."
