The bride was attended by four little bridesmaids, the Misses Urania Woodhouse (niece of the bride). Pauline Buchanan, Hazel Marriman (godchild of the bride groom) and Mary Fitz Gerald. They looked very dainty in their Kate Greenaway style dresses of apotted muslin, and poke bonnets, the first two in blue and the last two in yellow, and instead of the usual bouquet they carried crooks to match their dresses. THE ARGYLLS BAND.

BIG AUDIENCE AT PENINSULA HOTEL ENTERTAINED ̧

An exceptional musical treat was provided by the band of the 2nd Battalion The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, on the ocension of the Peninsula Hotel's symphonic concert last Sunday night. The large gathering of listeners, numbering over 500, filled the seating accommodation in the spacious ground floor lounge to its extreme capacity, and ac- corded a hearty reception to the excellent programme.

Features worthy of particular mention were the renderings by the combined Pipes and Band, and military compositions which kept the audience at the highest pitch of enthusiasm throughout. Encores were in constant demand, but time admitted only of oc casional response.

It was a sparkling musical enter tainment of a high standard, and
