When the Government in 1023 re Bumed possession of the golf course at King's Park which was used by golfing sections of the Kowloon Cricket Club, Kowloon Bowling Green Club
the Govern- and U.S.R.C., ment offered alternative ground nt Kowloon City military rifle range, and grant of inoney for developing the land.
The golfing sections of these three Clubs held a meeting on April 23,
and the present "Kowloon Golf b" caine into being as a limited liability company.
The Club owes a great deal to the members who in the years following its formation raised the necessary funds and undertook the work of lovel ling and clearing the ground and lay. ing out the greens-n task which was mude all the more difcult by rea- ron of the large amount of rock which had to be cleared away. Thanks to their efforts, which have been ably carried on by their successors, courne for some years now has afford- ed excellent facilities for good_golf and, indeed, is known as one of the most sporting in the Colony. Thanks Krvent lo grent ente by successive committees, who have devoted a great deal of time to their upkeep, the greens are also among the finest in The Colony.
Friendly Co-operation.

The Club is no way run in opposi- tion to other gulf clubs in the Colony: in fact the friendliest relations have existed with other Clubs, the thanks of the Committee being due in parti- cular to the Secretary of the Royal Hongkong Golf Club who has given the benefit of his device on many oc- casions.
The Club serves a useful purpose for Kowloon residents who do not play sufficient golf to justify joining the Renlor golf club, or who find a course near at hand convenient, whether or not they belong to other clubs. The with the membership has grown

Although ladies are restricted as to the times they may use the course at week-ends, many of them are able to take full advantage of membership during the week, and now that there in special acermmodation-most tasle. the new club fully arranged-in house it is fully expected that the Ladies' Section will be given an im- petus and that competitions will be. arranged by a special ladies' niittee.

The erection of the new club house has been made possible by the initia- tive of the General Committee, and the work of individual members of that emmittee and of the Building Sub-Committee, It is a one-floor build- ing with spacious lounge and ver- andab, changing and other rooms, all most tastefully furnished.
It is very appropriate that the opening ceremony should be perform el by His Excellency the Officer Com- manding, because the Club owes much to the consideration shown them by the military authorities in limiting the hours of firing on the ranges around which the course is laid out.
