London, June '12. Trade returns for the month of May show a slight increase in the value of exports as compared with those of April and March, but as compared with the returna for May of last year, heavy decreases in both imports and exports are recorded.

Imports for the month, valued at £69.600,000, were lower by over £21,000,000-than those of May of last year, and exports, valued at 239,600,000, showed a decrease of | £20,000,000.
