The first of the Lai Wah Cup mintches is being played to-morrow when the Army and Navy meet an the Kowloon ground. As a result, only three matches are, being played in the senior division of the league, nous of them of very great interest.

SHAMEEN FOOTBALL

LEAGUE,

TARANTULA DEFEATS THE MOTH XI.

Shameen, Nov. 14.

A very keen and interesting maten was witnessed here yesterday after noon when H.M.S. Tarantula defeated H.MLS. Moth by fwo goals to one in the Shameen Football League. The winners were playing their

first League match this grason,

ten

The match was extremely even, especially in the first half. Tarantula scored the first goal about minutes after the start, Miller from outside left slipping past the Moth goalie and netting the ball very biely. The rest of the first half was very evenly contested and shortly before half-time Shawyer from out- side right put a beautiful shot into Army v. Navy-Kowloon ground, the goal for the Moth, thus lovelling

The Lai Wah Cup.

The thrilling ups and downs of the Interport Cricket Festival have been engaging my attention, and I am afraid I am not very well acquainted with arrangements for the Lai Wah Cup match to- morrow. No teams appear to have been published, but it is to be taken for granted that the Navy will rely on their league team, and that the Somersets and Borderers will provide a large proportion of the Army eleven.

Whatever combination ishit upon by the Army selectors, it should be good enough to defeat the Navy on current form, though the Senior Service will put up a big fight.

Chinese Favoured.

South China and Chinese Athletic should both improve their league position to-mororw, at the expense of St. Joseph's and the Police respectively. The keenest game will be at the Stadium where! the Police, undoubtedly improved as the result of a little roshuffling.

the. may he expected to cause Athletis a certain amount of) anxiety on A ground which has been rendered heavier by the rain of this morning. Much depends on how Wynne, "Howarth and Estall stand up to the Athletic attack,

St. Joseph's will give South | China a run, but are not expected to get a point.

The Club entertaining the Club de Recreio should gain their second victory of the season if they are able to turn out at full strength. They have not enjoyed the best of luck having been forced to do a lot of chopping and changing. It is rumoured that now the Recreio sports are over, the Portuguese will be back with their' strongest eleven, in which event the Club will need to look to their Inurels..

In the Junior Division, wins by South China "A", the Borderers Reserves, Somerseta. Navy. R.A... Chinese Athletic "A", Eastern, and St. Joseph's are generally expect. ed. One of the keenest games will be at Sonkunpoo, where Kowloon Reserves are expected to put up n good show.
