Youth's Bad Record.

Sub-Inspector Baker informed his Worship that the defendant collided with a push-bike, the rider of which was badly injured by the accident.

The defendant said he did not know it was necessary to report the accident.

His Worship found that the de- fendant had a bad record, having been convicted several times for traffic offences. After reading several items in the defendant's record, his Worship remärked that he (defendant) was not a' fit per- son to have a licence and suggest- ed to Inspector Nicols that it be cancelled.

"You have been driving since 1925 and yet you say that you didn't know it was necessary to report ab accident. I will give you seven days to see what the Captain Superintendent of Police, will do with your licence," added his Worship to the defendant.

Case Transferred.

Another man who was charged this morning with negligent dřív- ing wes Mr. Alexander Reinschagen, the offence occurring on September 13 at 9.05 a.m. at the junction of Queen's Road West und Pokfulam Road.

This case came before Mr. Hamilton at first, but on learning the number of the defendant's car (1241) his Worship decided to let Mr. A. W. G. H. Granthan try the chse, as he might be prejudiced. To the defendant, Mr. Hamilton said: "The way you passed a car in which I was travelling" at Magazine Gap on Monday or Tues- day last was negligent. If had not been a Magistrate, I would have taken out a summons, against Fou myself."

Mr. Reinschagen apparently did not recall the incident.

Offence Denied.

Before Mr. Grantham, the defen- dant pleaded not guilty.

Giving evidence, Sub-Inspector Baker and that at about 9.05 a.m. on September 13, he was driving hia motor, cycle from the Univer- sity to Queen's Road West, Just before he reached No. 7 Police Station, he received the "All Clear" signal from the Indian policeman on point duty. He went through, but suddenly he saw, private car No. 1241 pull out from bohind an Aberdeen bus, which had stopped..

Witness then told the defendant that he would take out a summons against him, but the defendant re- plled that thought the bus had stopped to allow passengers to alight. Witness, however, did not see any passengers leaving the bua at the time..

Defendant informed his Worship that the reason why he pulled out was because he wanted to see the constable's sign,

Defendant's Story.

The evening was an altogether enjoyable one, and it was a matter for satisfaction that the continuity of the play, was not interrupted by applause. This came in no ur- stinted manner after the fual curtain.
