WOMAN IN TRAIN.

Tom Farmer, aged 48, a deaf muto, of Chiddingfold, was at Guildford recently remanded on a charge of causing grievous bodily harm, to Rose James, of Hunting Grove-road, Slinfold, by striking her on the head with a hammer at Guildford on Saturday.

Mr. H. Davies, Deputy Town Clerk, prosecuting, sald the woman was seen at Guildford with her head out of a carriage window. She was bleeding profusely.
