SOME AFTERNOON FROCKS
AND ENSEMBLES..
Scarlet gauntlet cuffs with lines of powder blue were a novelty on an afternoon frock of patterned red, blue and green crepe de Chine with a narrow collar in scarlet and blue, included in the collection at a recent dress show at Home.
A black afternoon frock had a military collar, finishing surpris- ingly in a searf at the back in red; black and whito" patterned crepe de Chine; there was a narrow patent leather belt In red, black and white and a side-drapery be- low it on one side lined to match the scarf at the back.

A frock of grey-green crepe had
a half-belt rather deeply scalloped
at the front and a shaped piece of the material, scalloped in the same way, forming a deep point at the back.
One of the most surprising frocks shown for`afternoon wear, a very slim Bttle black model, was cut lower in the front than most evening dresses are at present, and had a queer little tacked white bib as its sole trimming. It was worn with an extremely, short black coat which scarcely covered the waist- line.
· Pink silk lace bordered the sleeves of and formed a shoulder scarf for a rather "picturesque gown of pale grey crepe.
