THE AMOY TROUBLES.
CHINESE AUTHORITIES TAKE FIRM ACTION.
Amoy, Mar. 29. The Sino-Japanese situation has improved, but is still danger- oua.
The port is open and ships are working. Anti-Japanese pickets have been withdrawn by the Chi- nose authorities, who are enforc- ing martial law,
The labour unions are dissatis flad and the boycott will continue, compelling the Japanese to uns load their own cargo.
There was some stone-throw ing last night, and several win dows of Capanese residences as well as one shop front were broken, the Japanese owner of the shop being manhandled by students.
To-day there are, pamphlets everywhere, but no disorder......
