A BEAUTIFUL CINEMA STAR.

WOMAN'S
HUSBANDS & WIVES.
IN THE CINEMA WORLD..
Feminino stars of the cinema renim have tried for years to keep their marriages a secret from the public, The general belief, especially among the younger actresses, in that they will lose their cinema following if it is known that they are married.
During the last year this fear of losing followers has vanished to some extent. And it is due to vanish completely in the opinion of Dolores Del Rio.
"When I first came to Hollywood two years ago, I knew several pro- minent actresses who actually re- fused to acknowledge publicly that they were married," says Dolores, "They regarded their husbands as private luxuries and felt that their screen success was achieved-in spite of them--not because of them.
"I believe this has changed now. The screen actresses who feel that marringe is a damper to their popularity are the exceptions rather than the rule. That they are right may be proved by the fact that most of the cinema mäl to-day is received by the women who in private life are. happily married."
The Mexican screen beauty also contends that the cinema beauties with husbands make the most suc- cessful actresses.
"A girl with a happy home life naturally is in the best frame of mind for good acting," Miss Del Rio explains. "Nothing upseta onn's temperament as much as an unhappy domestic life-which is more common among single girls.
Then, too, the right kind of a husband-one with brains and a sympathetic understanding-is of infinite help to his actress-wife. Ho

HONOURS.
It is hard to single out any special points of bounty about the present evening dresses, there are so many, But it seems the use of greens and yellows for evening in the form of the daintiest of diaphanous attire: deserves mention.
The two evening gowns pletered to-day were seen, at a recent dance in New York. The model sitting shows an absinthe green silk mar- quisotte, a fluffy, dainty gown with ruffled circular paniered skirt and a quaint little taffeta bodice with rounded decolletage. Its sides swung almost to the floor, while the front and back remained just below the knees.
The other model chose a tulle frock in old gold shade of yellow with a sophisticated bodite of gleaming gold satin and a huge side bow and sash ends of the satin. Her three-tiered skirt had a piquant charm-a very alert looking gown withal.
Another guest at the same dance wore an emerald green velvet en- semble with ermine wrap, emerald lined while a blue-green chiffon that was unusual for its allver lace alde drapery and its deep V decolletage that was softened with lace attract- ed much attentiun.
