Copeland
Refrigerators
Perhaps not the LAST, but certainly the LATEST word in
DOMESTIC REFRIGERATION..
It does not appear to bo recognised that the Copeland Refrigerator bot only gives beltor cooling is un- doubtedly more hygienic vastly more convenient- but is actually much more economical than the usual ico chest using raw ice
The efficiency and design of the Copeitina is such that the compressor is driven by an electric motor of only 1/6 horse power.
The cost of operating a Copelund is so economi cal that after allowing for interest on the first cost at 7% and allowing 10% depreciation, there is still a cash saving of over $4pni per tanam.
Putting it another way, o Capelaul" pays for itself in yours!

There was terrible panic. The shrieking of the people in the water was terrible. I hope I shall never hear anything like it again. Half-drowned men and women were brought abroad, and we had tea and coffee and stimulants going all night in the cabins and dining rooms.
The women showed wonderful fortitude and wouldn't get into the boat until the children had gone first..
We got the little babies on board by putting them into ash bags so that they could not fall out. We most of whom had 23 children, were infants.

The chief officer, Mr. N. J. Synnott. Lower Newtown, Water- ford, went out with the lifeboats. We saw people rushing to the boats and jumping into the water, he said, and to our horror many of the boats capsized through overcrowd- ing and panie. I jumped into one of the Mafalda's lifeboats when it drew near and called for some men 3x voluntours. Everybody that could began swimming towards us and we were in great danger of cutting them with our propeller. The first man was pulled up over the stern or'a rope.
