TEAM FORMED PLAYING

Y.M.C.A. TO-DAY..

At a meeting at the Helena May Institute twenty local ladies express- ed their willingness to form a Ladies' Hockey Team and this has now been organised under the direction of Miss Coppin. The first match will be played at King's Park at 4.30 to-day when the ladies will meet a team from the Euronan Y.M.C.A., Kowloon.

The YM.C.A. will play eight men, the team being as follows-W. Lock- hart Smith, W. G. Lawson, P. Sands, A. A. Dand, F. E. G. Munn, J. Gard- ner, B. W. Sarapaon, and W. R. Greenhalgh.

A second motor cycle football Hongkong match will be played in this afternoon when two teams from the European Y.M.C.A. will be in opposition. The match will be played at 3 p.m. on the ground behind the Mongkok Fire Station, Nathan Road The teams are as follows:

An exceptionally fine game yesterday afternoon when the home four defeated the Shanghai Interport team by 20 shots to 12, The result flatters the Civil Service team, but nevertheless it must be admitted that they all played a brilliant game and man for man were better than their opponents. However, there was not so much in it as the score would ap-

"Barras skipped for Shanghai, with Aitkenhead at No. 2, and was some- what out of his element in that posi- Hc tion with Malcolm at No. 3. played quite well, did many good things, but very rarely enjoyed luck.. Borras put down as good woods as any other man on the side, but some- how those little "wicka" and wriggles which mean so much at times, never came his way.

Aitkenhead was not up to form and of three matches he has played in, yesterday was his poorest. This does not mean that he played badly. Fur from that. He gave quito 'n good exhibition, but it was apparent he was like a fish out of water at No. 2 and would have been far more at home at skip. It was somewhat sur- prising he did not take that position In view of the Interport match to-day.

Brierley at No. 1 was erratic. During the early part of the game he did quite a lot of good things, but Tell away towards the end.

There was not much the matter with Malcolm's game, except that he did not enjoy quite so much "joss" as he has done in the two previous matches. At times he put up some splendid woods;

Of the Hongkong team, taken all round Grimmitt at No. 3 was about the best of the four. He played a consistent and д brilliant game throughout and had he shown any thing like this form in the Interport trinks he would have walked into the

team.
