The sports were keenly contested and the King's Own Scottish Bord- erers won the. Aggregate Cup by aj narrow margin of points only, from promising. the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) t'e latter's representatives running particularly well in the Mile Relay Race, which was exceptionally fast, although unfortunately the time was not taken.

The typically Scottish part of the programme, the Highland Fling, Sword Dance, and the bagpipe. com- moet petitions gave the judges

the sovere task, the skill of

per formers maintaining a very high average.

Mrs. Templeton Presents Prizes.

When the sports had concluded with, an exciting five-a-side football match, the prizes were presented by Mr. D. Templeton, wife of the Chieftain of St. Andrew's Society. Mra. Templeton was afterward pre- sented by little Miss Kathleen

· McTavish, with a bouquet of roses in a silver vase.

Mr. D. Templeton, in the course of a brief speech, suid

they had come to the end of a perfect day. It had been a great pleasure for the Society to have the troops with them in such enjoyable circumstances, and he hoped that the day would be remembered by these who took part long after they had left these shores for some other part of the vast Bri- tish Empire.

The officials of the St. Andrew's Society had found great pleasuro in doing something to make the lot of the Scottish regiments in the Colony a lighter one, and "he ought to mention one mina who stood out above all others in the organisation of the "At Home," Mr. H. M. McTavish. "(Applause).

Mr. Templeton,

continuing, said that he would like to take the op portunity of thanking Mr. McTavish on behalf of the Society. They were all deeply grateful.

|

The St. Andrew's Society had just tried to make life little pleasanter for the troops, and he trusted that would leave Hongkong with good impression (Applause).

Thanks of all Ranks.

Replying on behalf of the regintents, Col. Comyn, commanding officer of the K. O. S. B., said he desired to express the thanks of all ranks to the members of St. Andrew's Society. It was a very kind thought and generous idea to give the sports and highland games which they had witnessed, and the regiments owed a deep debt of gratitude to all who had taken part in the organisation.

As regards, the Aggregate Cup wou by his regiment, the King's Own Scottish Borderers, they would keep It as one of their most treasured possessions. (Applause),
