OPENING OF OLYMPIAD.-The opening of the Eighth Ear Eastern Olympic Games in Shanghai was the occasion for bringing together one of the largest sporting crowds in the history of local athletics. An official reception was extended to the visiting competitors by the Vice-President of the Far Eastern Athlotic Association, Dr. Chang Po-ling A parade of all compoting athletes was a feature of the afternoon's ceremonies.
