LOCAL HOCKEY.

GOALKEEPER'S FINE DISPLAY.

A remarkably Ane goalkeeping performance was put up by Au- brey for the Royal Navy, when they played a hockey fixture with the first eleven of the Club at the United Services Recreation ground, Kogloon, yesterday after- noon. The game ended in n draw of one goal cach, but had not Aubrey played so well, there is little doubt but that the Club would have run out winners com- fortably. If anything, the Club had the most of the play, and their line of attack seemed to be stronger than the sailors'.

Following their usual style, the Navy put plenty of vim into their play early in, the gang, and At- kinson put them ahead after Club re- fifteen minutes." The tuliated strongly, and repeatedly seomed to be on the verge of net- ting, but Aubrey was not to be beaten, and saved shots of all sorts from all angles. It remained for Woodward to equalise, in the list ten minutes, after several attempts by him had been frustrated.

CHINA TROUNCED.

SERVICES SCORE NINE GOALS.

The team which was fielded to represent China against the United Services at Sookunpoo last even ing, was by no means the best side which could have been put into the field, and the defeat by nine rouls to one, was no exaggeration of the overwhelmingly superiority of the soldiers;
