Four separate. lots, all of which are situatod. In Kowloon, were offered by public auction by Mr. E. V. M. R. de Sousa at the China i Auetion Rooms yesterday after
noon.
Lot No. 1, consisted of soction: C of Kowloon Inland Lot No. 629, together with three tenements in course of construction intended to be known as Nos. 508, 505 and 507, Nathan Road.
The area of the property la 4,305 square feet and the annual rental fa $20.55.
The lot was started at $30,000, with bids of $500 acceptable. After an increase of $7,000, the lot was sold to Mr. Wong Pun.
The same purchaser also be- came the new owner of the so- cond lot which consists of Kowloon Inland Lot No. 1644 together with with an the buildings thereon arca of 930 square feet.
The upset price was $6,000 and the lot was sold for $6,400.
Mr. Chan Ying-yee, was the successful bidder for the third lot which consists of the Remaining. Portion of New Kowloon Inland. Lot No. 58 together with four tenements. Dow known as Nos, 61, 63, 66 and 67, Yu Chan Street, the area being 3,885 square feet.

In order to enable cotton growers to hold cotton for a more favour- able market, the Government an- nounces its willingness to advance at least four million sterling against security for raw, cotton, which will be warehoused in various parts of the country. "Shanghai, October 20. Well authenticated reports in Shanghai indicate that Hsia Chao
is retreating into Chekiang.
On Tuesday night a movement by. Sun Chuan-fang's troops commenced, about 2,000 being entrained for Sungkinng from Hsinchuang, after replacement of the rails,
It is estimated that Sun has about 5,000 troops in the district. Some reports place them at 8,000.
Hsia Chao's advanced line at present appears to be at Kashan, a point between Sungkiang and Kashing, though he appears also to have a small force six mites south of Sangkiang. The northern force is reported to have already reached Sungkiang.
Later... The latest report is that Sun' Chuan-fang has advanced as far as Kashan.-Reuter.
