WHS Felt Considerable, anxiety yesterday afternoon when the ss. Lungshan from Canton failed to arrive on time and up to dusk had finally not been sighted. She berthed shortly after 6 p.m. and aground, reported. having been which fact was responsible for three hours delay.
Leaving Canton at 8 a.m. yester- day at low water, she grounded on the bar at Tai-shak at 8.45 and was unable to float off until noon. when the rising tide lifted her clear without ascertainable damage.
Owing to heavy weather at Can- ton on Monday, few passengers ventured off to the ship in Bampans. The total number making the trip down was 183, considerably less than the daily list since the in- auguration of strike settlement proceedings.
