The Higher Education.
A great open-air service opened the Forty-eighth Triennial convention of the Episcopal church al Audobon Park, New Orleans. More than 10,000 attended the service and a choir of 250 voices led the singing. It was this convention which upheld the conviction of Bishop William Montgomery Brown on charges of heresy.
Yale Shows Power Again.

Toning Up the Muscles.
Mme. Gloria de Casares dwns the ship General Serrat (below), lying in the Thames at London and alleged to be waiting to sail for America with £20,000 worth of whisky. The crew, claiming their wages were overdua, rofused to sail and would not evon let her board her ship.
The U. S. S. Lexington, now aircraft carrier, is Jaunched at the Fore River shipyards, Quincy, Mass adding to the American navy the longest war vessel afloat." The Loxington is 888 feot long, can travel 33 knots an hour and, tied at a pier, could generate enough electricity to supply an entire city the size of Boston.
German Aeroplane Improvements.
