According to the report the junk was on a voyage from Cheungchau to Kwong Hol in ballast, when she was stopped by two sampans at spot called Tung Ku. It was at 9 p.m. The occupants of the sam- pans, numbering about thirty, fired at the junk as they drew along- aide, but fortunately no one was hit. The pirates scrambled on board the junk, and ordored the master into one of their boats. They landed at Tung Ku with the junk master and the crew. With both hands and feet securely bound the junk master was confined in matshed and a guard was posted at the door. He was a prisoner for three days.

At 3 am. on April 25, the tem- porary absence of the guard pro- vided him an opportunity to escape. He managed to release himself and walked all the way to a place called Tau Shan, where he entrained for Kongmoon. He then proceeded to Macao and eventually returned to Hongkong.
