“ALLEGED' ASSAULT.
Two Portuguese residents of Homunlin appeared before Mr. E. W. Hamilton at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon in cross summonses taken out against each other for assault,
The respective parties were Mr. P. O, da Reza. of No. 18 Liberty Avenue represented by Mr. T. G. Bonnet and Mr. H. A. Barros of No. 11 Liberty Avenue represented by Mr. C. A. 8. Russ.
As Mr. Barros had taken out his summons first his Worship uskød Mr. Russ to open his caso.
Outlining the Casu Mr. Russ said that both parties lived next to each other at Homuntin. About 7.30 p.m. on the 28th August tho complainant, Barros, returned to his house and went to the back into the dining room and asked his boy for a glass of water in Chineso, There had been con- siderable trouble between Roza's children and the Barros family. The complainant spoke in a stuttering manner And the children in the next house werg in, the habit of mimicing his cilent! OR this occasion they again miniicked him when he called for? the water. Ho then said that he would go down and slap them.; When ho went down stoire the defendant appeared and said: "What do you mean by threaten- ing to slap my children, If you are looking for trouble come right down." He did not go down as requested and finally wout in doors.
