Van Rooyen grabbed at bis horse, but if balted, and the lion" sprang on top of him and seized his left arm near the shoulder.
A mounted native called up the dogs, and this saved the hunter's life, the lion, which had been in- jured in the trap and had been shot in the jaw, making off.
Good progress is being made by Van Rooyen at a farm near Bulawayo,
